Lemon drizzle cake

Please order this cake - it's my favourite to make because it just smells like lemony holiday heaven. This lemon drizzle cake should come with a warning - it smells divine and melts in your mouth. You'll be hard pressed to stop at just one piece. Made with real lemons and drizzled with lemon-y icing. It will grace your afternoon tea table or be the perfect end to a lavish dinner party.

This cake looks like it's home made because it is! Feel free to tell people you made it yourself. Remember we take that as a compliment! Perfect for afternoon tea or the perfect end to a lavish dinner party.

SERVES: depends ENTIRELY on who is wielding the cake knife but we say 12-16 people (approx) for the medium or 25-30 people for the large size. If you cut it into rectangular slices (by cutting it across instead of wedges) the large size goes a looong way - we've seen it serve up to 40, but it's entirely up to you. It's your cake and you should share it (or not!) however you want to. [The sliced cake in the images is a stunt cake ;) ]
